Border Collies
Intelligent, loving, playful and loyal — raised at Five Springs and placed with care.

A herding dog of the Anglo-Scottish border
The Border Collie is a British herding dog of medium size, whose name comes from its probable place of origin along the Anglo-Scottish border. They carry a double coat ranging from smooth to rough, occasionally curled, in almost any color — though black and white is most common, with black tricolor, liver and white, and red tricolor also appearing.
Border Collies are widely regarded as the most intelligent dog breed. They excel at herding — directing sheep, cattle, poultry, pigs, and even ostriches by voice and whistle at long distances — as well as agility and obedience work. The principal registry in the United States is the American Border Collie Association (ABCA), dedicated to preserving the traditional working dog. The breed was also recognized by the AKC in 1995.
Beyond their working ability, Border Collies are extremely loyal and affectionate. They thrive with structure, exercise, and a job to do — and make devoted companions for families prepared to meet their needs.
Lilly and puppies
Lilly came to Five Springs Farm from Lancaster, PA, as a 12 week old puppy in 2023. She loves people, children, and other dogs. She is our major helper on the farm and the joy of our lives!

We previously raised and showed Lhasa Apsos under the kennel name Xanadu, including Best in Show Champion Xanadu's Raphael (Ralph).

Liesel (Lilly)
Lilly is the heart of Five Springs Farm. Born in the summer of 2023, she is registered with both the AKC and the ABCA. Her April 2026 litter — sired by PHBC Bear, owned by Anisa Moser of Winter Creek Border Collies — produced six puppies, and all have now gone to their forever homes.
